  Big Y is getting better every day. More choices in most departments.Veggies seem to be better quality than in the past. Prices are decent. One thing that amazed me lately was how much freezer space is devoted to ice cream. Yikes! Seemed excessive. Good bread is hard to find in Pittsfield. Big Y could do better. But for basic staples, we like it.

  Big Y does an unmatched job at working with local business and giving back to the community. Their service is unmatched in the grocery store business. This particular store, though, is not my favorite for two reasons. 1. It is very difficult to turn into the driveway and you are generally parking far away from the store entrance. 2. You will spend more money here compared to other stores. I guess it's up to the consumer to decide whether or not the quality service is worth the cost. I for one believe this to be the case. Most people I talk to, however, tell me that they prefer market 32.
